Expatriate work permits to be issued via the internet

Aksam – The Foreigners’ Department under the Ministry of Labor has prepared a project for issuing expatriate work permits via the internet in a bid to facilitate procedures for foreign investors as well as for companies employing expatriates. The tender to be held by the Public Procurement Agency on July 9 will provide a certain relief for many sectors including tourism, industry, education and health. The procedure, which is currently carried out using hard copies and can take up to eight months, will be completed in a far shorter period with the new system.
