“Once our ongoing infrastructure projects for a more robust and a greater Türkiye are complete, Türkiye will gradually become a center of attraction both for local and international investors,” President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated during his speech at the inauguration of the 6th section of the North Marmara Highway via videoconference on December 19.

“In 2002, the total length of double highways in our country stood at 6,100 kilometers only. We have stepped it up to 28,000 kilometers. We have almost doubled the total length of Türkiye’s highways,” said President Erdoğan, referring to Türkiye’s disadvantages because of the shortcomings in the transportation sector 18 years ago.

President Erdoğan went on to say, “More than TRY 880 billion was allocated for transportation investments alone over the past 18 years. This is best supported by the fact that Türkiye has attracted 220 billion dollars’ worth of FDI since 2003. It also means a much bigger leap forward awaits us in the period ahead,” said President Erdoğan.
