“We will be the IT center of Europe”

IT Business - Having emphasized that Türkiye will be the strongest information technology base in Europe, Alpaslan Korkmaz, President of Prime Ministry Investment Support and Promotion Agency, has stated that they are quite assertive in this area and that the foreign investments in ICT (information and communication technologies) sector in Türkiye has increased. Korkmaz has also declared that Türkiye may well become a very significant actor in the software market of Europe. Pointing out that the direct investment attracted by Türkiye in the last five years has amounted to $60 billion, Korkmaz has specified that they robustly support the promotion campaigns conducted by Cisco, Sun Microsystems, Microsoft and Nortel Networks for the purpose of generating awareness. Korkmaz has also called attention to the fact that the second largest Microsoft operations in the world, following Seattle, are carried out in Türkiye, and that Microsoft is managing 80 different countries from Türkiye.
