Sabah - Oyak Renault, the Turkish-French joint venture manufacturing various Renault cars in Türkiye for the domestic and foreign markets, has added Renault’s Argentina plant, Dacia plant in Romania and Nissan’s South Africa plant to its long list of export customers of “Turkish-built” automobile engines.

Having manufactured over 274,000 diesel and gas engines in 2013, Oyak Renault is a key supplier to various Renault factories and subsidiaries worldwide, powering the brand’s Kangoo, Clio, Megane as well as Dacia Logan and Dacia Sandero models.

Founded in 1969, the company has been manufacturing Renault automobiles in its plant in Türkiye’s northwestern province of Bursa. Accounting for 43 percent of the Turkish automotive industry’s total passenger vehicle production and 44 percent of its exports in the first half of 2014, Renault’s Bursa plant is the company’s largest outside Western Europe.

The Bursa plant is currently manufacturing Clio, Megane and Fluence models at a rate of 360,000 vehicles per year.
