Milliyet - Türkiye’s Minister of Energy Taner Yildiz said Türkiye has pledged to purchase 70 percent of the electricity that would be generated by the nuclear power plant to be built in Akkuyu.

Yildiz spoke to the press at the 2. Black Sea Oil and Gas Summit and said the purchase guarantees of the four units to be incorporated into the nuclear power plant will be different. Yildiz said there will be a 70 percent purchase guarantee for the two units and added, “There is a 30 percent purchase guarantee for the third and fourth units. We will disclose information on the partnership and conditions with the public.”

Türkiye and Russia have recently signed a USD 20 billion cooperation deal to build and operate the county’s first nuclear power plant in Akkuyu, on the Mediterranean coast.
